The principle of Diamond Painting is similar to the well-known "paint by numbers" format. Colour-coded stones are stuck onto a printed template with an adhesive film, creating a picture with a radiant, lively character.

The pick-up pen needs wax to hold the stones precisely. It has a simple holding surface for one stone and others for 3, 6 and 9 stones. The pen is hand turned and therefore each pen looks slightly different.
